Course Overview
This course is designed to prepare students with math skills used in everyday consumer life.
The course includes but is not limited to the following topics:
1. Basic Math Skills
2. Personal Finance
3. Business Math
Grading
Homework/Boardwork – 5 points
Project – 30 points
Chapter Test – 60 points
If you fail to have an assignment complete when it is due, you have until the end of the day to turn the assignment in for passing credit only; otherwise, it will be recorded as a zero.
Midterm tests will be given in December.
Final tests will be given in May.
Extra credit will not be given to replace the required course work. Extra credit will only be given if your required work is completed and you need extra practice to understand the skills required to be successful during this course.

A+: 99-100 A: 96-98 A-: 93-95
B+: 91-92 B: 88-90 B-: 85-87
C+: 83-84 C: 80-82 C-: 77-79
D+: 75-76 D: 72-74 D-: 70-71
F: 69 or below
Make Up Work
If you are absent, YOU are responsible to get the missed assignment(s). Assignments will be posted on my website http://mrsvasa.mcstryon.org/. Two days extra make up time is allowed for the day missed. For example, if you miss class on Monday, the work assigned that day will be due Thursday morning before school starts.
Communication
Assignments will be posted on my website http://mrsvasa.mcstryon.org/. Parents are encouraged to access students’ grades and contact me as needed. If internet access is not available, please contact me and I will get student information to you.
